The Backscatter Lidar systems are powerful instruments for monitoring atmospheric parameters (backscatter coefficient, extinction coefficient, optical depth) and processes (boundary-layer growth, aerosol and cloud layering, etc). The measurement principle of the LB-systems is based on elastic scattering processes by suspended aerosols (dust, water droplets, ice crystals, black carbon) and molecules of the atmosphere.
The LB-systems are available with different laser wavelengths (1064, 532 and 355 nm or any combination), detection wavelengths (1064, 532, 355 nm and polarization) and telescope aperture diameters. All systems are equipped with an industrial PC and dedicated software, including software modules for data acquisition, analysis and visualization. Eye-safe solutions are available on request.
