The AP Series Radar Wind Profilers offer superior technology for remote and accurate wind measurements in meteorology, aviation, pollution control and defence.

Radar wind profilers analyse the frequency and amplitude of electromagnetic pulses which are reflected from the atmosphere. Besides wind speed and direction, turbulence characteristics and information about the atmospheric structure are derived.

The AP Series consists of two lines: The models AP10, AP100 and AP1000 offer a cost effective solution for measurements in the lower atmosphere. The operation frequency is 1290 MHz. RASS extensions are available for enhanced wind measurements to satisfy requirements of very high data availability, for example on airports. The models AP50, AP500 and AP5000 operate at frequencies of 449 MHz, 482 MHz or 915 MHz. They have fully steerable beams for improved data quality, in particular in the presence of nonatmospheric reflections such as towers or aerostats. The possible height range extends from less than 100 m to more than 16 km.
