The UVS-AE-T measures UV-A irradiance and Erythemal active UV irradiance.
The dual band UVS-AE-T measures the irradiance in two spectral bands with a single sensor providing separate outputs for each band (only available as internal thermostated T-version).
The sensor output in MED/h (Minimum Erythemal Doses per hour) can be used to predict how long the human skin can be exposed to the sun before an erythema (reddening or sunburn) occurs. Due to the Robertson-Berger type spectral response of the UVS-AE-T radiometer, this one can be related to existing monitoring network data.
The dual band UVS-AE-T has two separate analogue voltage outputs for each band. The high accuracy UVS-AE-T is thermostated (heated / cooled at 25 ºC) including filters, detector and pre-amplifier. Due to the heating/cooling element it requires external power.
The UVS-E-T has a sealed, weather resistant case made from protected aluminum. The sensor permits continuous outdoor operation. The UVS-E-T can easily be adjusted in the horizontal by help of three leveling screws and the built-in circular bubble level.
